  • He started experimenting with paint and materials as a kid, in his father's furniture workshop - an experience that shaped how he sees color, texture, and form. His mother's side of the family gave him a different sensory language: flavor, aroma, texture, learned in the kitchen. Between the workshop and the kitchen, a hands-on aesthetic education took root long before any school did - one that still shapes how he relates to materials today.

    He didn't commit to art until 2021. Painting showed up during a hard period in his life, out of pure impulse, not choice. It taught him that certain instincts need somewhere to go - and shouldn't be suppressed.

  • LeMat treats tension itself as material. His work holds two forces in constant conflict: one that orders - form, structure, beauty, individuation - and one that overflows - ecstasy, the dissolving of limits, pain and pleasure at once.

  • Everything that exists was born from an original friction. LeMat translates that tension between order and overflow through contrasts in material, gesture, and scale, working from the whole body, not just the wrist. His compositions move between abstraction and raw figuration.
